Royal Family announces the marriage of Prince Felipe with Letizia Ortiz
MADRID (Reuters) - Royal Family announced on Saturday the marriage of
Prince Felipe with the journalist Letizia Ortiz and added that the marriage
would be held on the first days next summer in the Almudena's Cathedral
in Madrid.
Felipe de Borbón (35) is the crown prince to the Spanish thorne,
while Letizia Ortiz TVE's "Telediario" presenter.
Royal Family informed also about the proposal of marriage, that is going
to take place next Thursday 6th of November in the Zarzuela's Palace.
This is how the news went off on Saturday 1st November. From this

Royal Family has announced the marriage
of the Prince Felipe with the journalist Letizia Ortiz.
Prince of Asturias will marry Letizia Ortiz at the beginning of next
summer. The wedding between them will take place in the Almudena's Cathedral
in Madrid and the proposal of marriage will be on next Thrusday in the
Zarzuela's Palace.
Mr. Felipe of Borbón, is 35 años and her fiancée
is 31. Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano has a degree in Information Science and
was born on 15th September 1972 in Oviedo. Jounalist and daughter of journalist,
she wields her job as TVE's "Telediario 2" presenter.
Letizia Ortiz arrived to Televisión Española in 2000, where
she worked with the team of editors of "Telediario 2" amd took
charge of the presentation of "Informe Semanal".

The marriage between Felipe and Letizia Ortiz will take place in the Almudena's
Cathedral and the proposal of marriage will be held next Thursday, as
the same sources said.
The whole text of the press announcement of the Royal Family is the following:
"Their Majesties the Kind and Queen have the great satisfaction to
announce the engagement of His son, His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias
Mr. Felipe, with Mrs. Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano".
In addition, it's added that "the proposal of marriage will be held
in the Zarzuela's Palace next Thursday, 6th November. The wedding with
take place at the beginning of 2004's summer it the Cathedral of Saint
Mary the Real of the Almudena in Madrid. Zarzuela's Palace, 1st November

She has a civil marriage
The journalist of Televisión Española Letizia Ortiz, that
will get married next summer with the Prince of Asturias, had a first
civil marriage with a literature teacher, getting divorced two years later
after the wedding.
That first wedding with Alonso Guerrero, writer and literature teacher
in the "Ramiro de Maeztu" Institute in Madrid, took place in
1997.
It was in Almendralejo (Badajoz) and the town mayor Manuel Jesús
Morán married them. The same sources say that marriage had a two
years length. The former husband, as the sources informed, has married
again.

MADRID.- Prince Felipe will marry at the beginning of the next summer
the journalist Letizia Ortiz. Mr. Felipe of Borbón, the crown prince,
is 35 and her fiancée 31. Letizia Ortiz, with a degree in Information
Science, actually wields her job as TVE's "Telediario 2" presenter.
The wedding between Mr. Felipe and Letizia Ortiz will be held in the
Almudena's Cathedral and the proposal of marriage will be next Thrusday,
as the Royal Family informed. The King and Queen, the Mr. Felipe's sisters
and the family of teh bride will assist to this act.
Mr. Felipe's fiancée will have now an special status and will
go to some oficial events with the Prince. Foreseeably, she'll abandon
the job.
The young girl, daughter of journalists, has no link with the aristocracy,
as ABC highlights, and comes from an average class family.
The last 'meeting' of the couple which has been recorded was last las
friday in Oviedo. The Prince went there to give the prizs with his name
while Letizia Ortiz covered that event for TVE.
On June 26th 2002 Mr. Felipe had his new home, constructed by Patrimonio
Nacional in the Zarzuela's Palace area, where the couple will probably
live after the marriage.
Before revealing this, the King told the news to the president of the
Congress, Luisa Fernanda Rudi, with the president of the Goverment, José
María Aznar, and the candidates for the elections of PP and PSOE,
Mariano Rajoy and José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, who congratulated
them because of the marriage..
After that, Royal Family revealed the engagement with the following press
anouncement:
